There’s something to be said about leaving a life behind that no longer serves you. Almost ten years ago my life looked very different. I was a suburban stepmom living in a big house, driving a fancy car, suffocating in high paying jobs and drowning in a toxic relationship. All of that felt too comfortable to escape and from the outside it looked like I had it all. The real truth was that I was living a lie and it was hard to stop the moving train. Until one day, my comfortable life fell apart and I was forced to find my own way. Fast forward almost 10 years I am creating a dream life that I never knew was even possible. I live in a smaller home and drive less expensive car. I’m now raising my own child and celebrating new relationships. I’m building my own business and becoming the best, most authentic version of myself. Today, I’m a proud queer parent championing for diversity, inclusion and equity and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I could never have written this story in a thousand years and my journey is just getting started.
I want you to know that dreams, just like businesses don’t necessarily manifest how and when you think they will. Most times it takes falling down 20 times before you can even get back up again and sometimes you need a helping hand. Over the last decade I’ve had the pleasure of helping others bring their vision to reality and create the business of their dreams.
In 2021, the theme for the PFN photo series Black Herstory Month will be ‘les voix amplifies des femmes noires’. This photo series will highlight the loss of black lives and the historic Black Lives Matter Movement.
